F. Kroeber, New York, "Grandfather" nickel case 30 hour chronograph, c1885
CONDITION:
this rare timepiece is in excellent original condition, registering seconds with the center sweep and quarter-seconds on the smaller dial under the 12. The plated metal case has a nice old patina and only a small minor dent on the back. The 3" paper dial, with 1882 patent date and logo, has aged only slightly, and the beveled glass is fine. The clean movement ticks and stops, and the minute hand is loose, so some service is needed. Overall diameter 4.5"
